Blizzards and Wedding Showers
Now that its 50 degrees outside, I feel the need to document the awesome snow storm we had last week. We never get enough snow to make me happy about winter - damn global warming! Anyway, it snowed all day on Tuesday until we had 14 inches to play in. The university closed Tuesday and Wednesday as well as Jeff's office so we had REAL snow days. I had to coerce Jeff into playing in the snow. He'd have stayed inside all day without enjoying it but I did manage to get him out in the cold on the premise of shoveling the drive way. The only disappointment - the lack of topographical relief here means no good sledding.
I also went to Julie's wedding shower last weekend. I really like the way she and her girlfriends from high school do the shower thing in their group. Rather than playing silly shower games, they all get together and make a scrapbook for special girl - not to mention drink, eat and hang out. We each made scrapbook pages for Julie of our life's milestone (ie. weddings, babies, graduation, crazy high school and college memories with Julie). At the end of the shower, Julie got this great scrapbook full of pictures from all her friends. Now, I am definitely not the scrapbook making type but I am totally willing to put that aside for one of my best friends because she'll get so much enjoyment out of the end product. While I'm passing along idea's, for baby shower's they paint onesies for the new baby. Is this idea worthy of Real Simple or what?
